The Alpenhaus on the Kitzbüheler Horn
Surrounded by a breathtaking panorama, the Alpenhaus in Kitzbühel serves a variety of homemade dishes and cakes. When the sun is shining, you can enjoy the spectacular view towards the Großglockner, lounging on the sun terrace in a deck chair or on a terrace seat. Inside the Alpenhaus the restaurant is decorated with traditional three tiled stoves, warming both the heart and soul. The Alpenhaus on the Kitzbüheler Horn can be easily reached with the Hornbahn or via the panorama road during the summertime. A Family Business on the Kitzbüheler Horn since 1893
The Alpenhaus in Kitzbühel has been run by the Reisch family since 1893. Franz Reisch, who also created Austria's first high-alpine ski run from the Kitzbüheler Horn into the valley, bought the Alpenhaus with the Kagringalpe on the Kitzbüheler Horn in 1893. The son of Franz and Maria Reisch continued to run the Alpenhaus as a hotel. Furthermore, Walter built the Old Hornweg and provided land and financial resources for the construction of the Horn Chapel. Ernst Reisch, the 3rd generation of the Reisch family on the Kitzbüheler Horn, converted the Alpenhaus from a hotel to a day-to-day operation. One of his pioneering achievements was the construction of the panorama road in 1965. Today, Franz Reisch runs the Alpenhaus with his wife Ursula and his children Franziska and Hans-Peter, namely the 4th Reisch generation. Together Franz and Ursula also run The Landhotel Jodlbühel in Jochberg as part of the family business.
