From the Trattalmulde (10 min. From the Alpenhaus downhill) a 2.4 km path leads into the unique karst worlds on the Kitzbüheler Horn. You will get impressive insights into the history of the earth via imposing viewpoints - in a time long before the dinosaurs. The karst hiking trail is perfect for lovers of flatter routes. A visit to the reservoir on the Kitzbüheler Horn is a great addition to this hike.

Whether with an e-bike, mountain bike or racing bike, conquering Austria's steepest mountain cycle is a goal of every cyclist. The best time of 28 minutes and 53 seconds has to be broken! When you arrive at the Alpenhaus, like the professionals from the Austria Cycling Tour, you can get your bike sticker there and replenish your energy with an alcohol free wheat beer, a portion of spaghetti and our homemade curd strudel in the Alpenhaus mountain restaurant.

At the Kitzbühel cycle marathon, you have to cover 216 kilometers and 4600 meters in altitude. From Kitzbühel, the Thurn Pass, the Gerlos Pass, the Kerschbaumer Sattel and the Kitzbüheler Horn have to be conquered as the "Grand Finale". The SV Kitzsport Horn cycling race is one of the fixtures on the Kitzbüheler Horn sporting event calendar. In this race you have to master a distance of 7.2 kilometers, 865 meters of altitude with a maximum gradient of 22.3% in the best time.

For over two decades, the Alpenhaus on the Kitzbüheler Horn has been a favourite destination on the Austria cycle tour. Many cycling celebrities, such as Gregor Mühlberger, Cadel Evans and Paolo Bettini, have already conquered the Kitzbüheler Horn. For all lovers of sporting events, arriving at the finish on the Kitzbüheler Horn is an unforgettable experience.

For those who prefer to follow the hiking trails continuously, trail running is just the thing for them. On the Kitzbüheler Horn there is the possibility to use the Horn-Südberge Trail, the Alten Hornweg or the Karstweg as a whole-body training route. The Gamstrail has been taking place since 2018. This event is a must for all trail running fans.

The accessibility of the Alpenhaus via the Panoramastraße also offers wheelchair users a perfect opportunity to experience the Kitzbüheler Horn. The entire restaurant is barrier-free and on the ground floor, and there is also a newly renovated disabled toilet in the ladies' and men's toilets.
